Also known as the Chevrolet Sweater and “the rarest of all commercials,” dozens of people knelt on their hands in a continuous line across 5400 miles, from Los Angeles to New York City. The event was able to unfold because security guards volunteered to help hold those kneeling people in place by grabbing the waist or back of the person in front of them.
By the end, after nine days in total, $24 million were raised.
