A few years ago he turned his fascination with the topic into an extensive study that culminated in the publication of a book he called “The Aloha Shirt: Stories From Hawai’i’s Shirts of Desire.”

With such fervor and interested in Hawaiians shirts Meyer felt compelled to share what he had learned while completing his research. He published a photocopied 16-page booklet with meanderings in both English and Japanese. About 200 of these were printed, most to hand out to friends and family on special occasions like birthdays or retirement parties.
