On July 3, 1962, Thomas Cruise Mapother IV was born in Syracuse, New York.

2. He lived in Canada for a number of years.

When Cruise’s father accepted a position as a military consultant, his family briefly resided in Ottawa. His parents split, and they relocated back to the United States.

3. Fr. Tom may have been him.

Before opting to pursue a career in acting, Cruise briefly attended a Cincinnati seminary.

4. Career achievements

In the 1981 film “Endless Love,” Tom had his first acting role. His first big-budget action film, “Top Gun,” came out in 1986. In 1996, he appeared in the first “Mission: Impossible” movie.

5. His lead woman

Tom has had three marriages: his first was to Mimi Rogers in 1987, and his second was to Nicole Kidman in 1990. He married Katie Holmes in 2006, and the two separated in 2012. Additionally, he dated Penelope Cruz and Rebecca De Mornay, both actors.

6. The next generation

Suri is Tom’s only biological daughter; Isabella and Connor are his two adopted children.

7. Additional roles

According to rumors, Cruise was a contender for the starring part of Neo in “The Matrix” and was chosen by Marvel as Tony Stark early on in the development of “Iron Man.”
