The Gap Select line had the goal in 2005 of rotating clothes produce every 6 months, but clothes would last longer than a year before getting rotated out. The problem with this is that clothes on trend sell fast and so if Gap isn’t changing their styles often then people’s interest can drop easily. In addition because there was limited selection the store was seeing an even bigger issue on customer conversion rates as people would come into Gap but not buy anything because they couldn’t find anything they liked.
